Faith at the Threshold: Cinnamon, Tithes, and Trust
On the first of every month, I stand at my front door with a pinch of cinnamon in my hand. I pause, whisper a quiet prayer, and blow it across the threshold. 🍃✨
To some, it might look like just a ritual or superstition. But to me, it carries the same spirit as when I used to pay tithes in church. I remember giving when I barely had anything to give—slipping a few dollars into the basket, holding my breath, and trusting that somehow, I would be taken care of. That my children and I would have what we needed. That the bills would get paid. That doors would open even when I couldn’t see how. And you know what? Somehow, they always did.
That’s the heart behind the cinnamon, too. Not a desire to be rich, but a practice of faith. It’s my way of saying: I trust there will be enough. I trust provision will find me. I trust that even when my vision is limited, Spirit sees beyond what I can see.
Both tithes and cinnamon carry the same intention—faith in abundance, trust in divine provision, and gratitude in advance. It’s less about the act itself and more about the energy behind it.
Because when you give—whether it’s money, cinnamon, time, or love—you’re opening yourself to receive. You’re saying: I believe. I trust. I know I am supported.
And every time, I am reminded: even when the way wasn’t clear, even when I couldn’t figure it out on paper… I have always had what I needed, when I needed it. Always. 🌿🙏🏽✨
✨ Tell me—what’s a ritual or practice you hold onto that helps you welcome abundance and trust that your needs will be met?
